Hi, I'm Johan, the person behind Beehives & Blood.

I've been making music for more than 35 years, and for the last ten years I've worked as a producer, mostly for independent artists. Somewhere along the way I realised my favourite part of the process is the very beginning, when I'm just playing with sounds for hours and waiting for something unexpected to happen.

That's what these plugins are about. Randomness is one of the best ways I know to start a song. The magic happens in the unexpected, and one inspiring sound is often all it takes. Three hours later, I have a finished track. DICEBOX and 1SHOT are built around that idea: a fast workflow for trying out new ideas, so you spend less time tweaking and more time finding sounds you didn't know you were looking for.

Even the name is random. It fit too well to change.

When I'm not producing music, I'm working on new plugin ideas. A big update for DICEBOX is on the way, and a new plugin is planned for the end of the year.

Every email is answered by me personally, so if you have a question, an idea or a bug to report, get in touch here.

Johan
